About Meprofile

Hello and Welcome! My name’s Lincoln and I run this website, PTCGOhub.com.

I have a been a fan of the Pokemon Franchise since 1999, playing Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow on the Game Boy Pocket and Game Boy Color. I also quickly started playing the Pokemon TCG (Trading Card Game) during the release of the original Base Set.

I mainly collected the TCG cards and seldom ever played competitively in my local area. I collected until the release of the Team Rocket expansion, but stopped at around the release of the Gym Heroes expansion set.

While I continued to play the video games on-and-off through the years, my interest in Pokemon was resurrected with the launch of the 6th generation games: Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, as well as the remakes of Ruby and Sapphire: Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

I recently got into the Pokemon TCG Online (and the Pokemon TCG once again) in July 2016. I’ve learned a lot and thoroughly enjoy the game and would love to share what I’ve learned (as well as the fun of playing) with everyone else.

Recent Events in the Pokemon Franchise

Now more and more fans of the original Pokemon games and the early Pokemon TCG have cause to give Pokemon a second-look. The launch of Pokemon GO for iOS and Android in July 2016 brought back all those feel-good nostalgia feelings to millions of people around the world.

The Pokemon Company has also been celebrating its 20th Anniversary (from its start in Japan) by giving out Legendary and Mythical Pokemon for the latest 4 games: X/Y and OR/AS. It started in February with a Mystery Gift of the Mythical Pokemon Mew, and will end in December with Meleotta. Also in November: Genesect and Volcanion (GameStop codes in US).

Pokemon Sun and Moon of the 7th generation will be launching soon, on November 18, 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS and 2DS. The Sun and Moon Series of the TCG will be launching sometime in February 2017.

Finally, the 20th Anniversary release of the the XY-Evolutions set features reprinted and updated cards based on the original Pokemon TCG Base Set, released in 1999! XY-Evolutions will be the final expansion set in the XY BREAK Series, released on November 2, 2016.

Fans of the Pokemon TCG have had a way to enjoy collecting, trading, and battling others online in a MMORPG with the official Pokemon TCG Online (for Windows, macOS, Android, and iPad).
