Battle Arena Deck: Rayquaza vs Keldeo–A Must Buy

Introduction

A new Battle Arena Deck is available, and it’s a nice one!

The new Battle Arena Deck features Rayquaza-EX (Dragon) and Keldeo-EX with the Rush-in ability. These decks may both be in Expanded format, but for once they carry some valuable staple cards.

Keep in mind this Battle Arena Deck comes with 2 complete 60-card decks. That’s 120 cards!

Why Get Rayquaza vs Keldeo?

The Exclusive, New Karen Supporter

This Battle Arena Deck is currently the only way to get the all-new Karen Supporter!Karen

So what does she do? Think of Karen as the anti-Night March and anti-Vespiquen card. (Yeah, it might be a little late for help against Night March…). Karen forces both players to shuffle every Pokemon in the their discard pile back into their decks.

Had a lot of Pokemon Knocked Out? Worried about Decking-Out? Playing Rainbow Road or Mega Ray and just got Parallel City’d? Play Karen. 😀

Did I mention that each set includes TWO copies of Karen?

The Staple Cards Included

This Battle Arena Deck comes with loads of valuable Staple cards.

Ever since Phantom Forces rotated out, new players have had a hard time getting their hands on VS Seeker. (VS Seeker is still playable in Standard due to its Secret Rare reprint in Roaring Skies.) Not to mention, most decks run 4 copies of it.

Each of the Rayquaza and Keldeo decks include one copy, so you’ll get TWO total of VS Seeker. Physical copies of VS Seeker were selling for around $10-12 each before this deck came out, now they’re a little cheaper, but will still set you back $6-8 each. In PTCGO, VS Seekers trade for around 1-2 STS pack each.

Battle Compressor

Battle Compressor

If you’d ever like to play in the Expanded Format, Battle Compressor is an extremely valuable card, too. It’s value still remains fairly high and it hard-to-get. This set includes two copies. Further, AZ (1 copy) was an amazing card (now in Expanded) that could easily deny your opponent a prize card or two. Before Ninja Boy it also allowed you to get out of an awful Hoopa-EX or Shaymin-EX start.

Of course, there’s also the essential staple cards, such as Professor Sycamore, N, Lysandre, and Ultra Ball, and even a line of the budget-Shaymin Octillery (BKT) with the Abyssal Hand ability.

These decks include the following Staple cards:

Supporters

  • Archie’s Ace in the Hole (x1)
  • AZ (expanded, x1)
  • Karen (x2)
  • Fisherman (x1)
  • Lysandre (x2)
  • N (x2)
  • Professor Sycamore (x4)
  • Skyla (x2)
  • Teammates (x1)

Items and Tools

  • Battle Compressor (expanded, x2)
  • Dive Ball (x2)
  • Escape Rope (x1)
  • Float Stone (x2)
  • Level Ball (x2)
  • Rare Candy (x2)
  • Superior Energy Retrieval (x2)
  • Switch (x2)
  • Ultra Ball (x4)
  • VS Seeker (x2)

Stadiums

  • Rough Seas (x2)

Pokemon

  • Remoraid-Octillery (1-1)

In addition to the Staples, you’ll also get Keldeo-EX (x2), and the dragon-type Rayquaza-EX (x2)

The decks also include 8 foil Water energy, 4 foil Lightning energy, and 4 foil Fire energy.

Unlocked Cards

If you’ve ever gotten a special Tin or other non-Theme deck in PTCGO before, you’ll remember that normally only 1 or 2 cards (plus some foil energy cards, if any) are unlocked and trade-able.

In this Battle Arena Deck; however, all cards are unlocked and trade-able.

Keldeo vs Rayquaza: The Value

If you’re playing the physical (IRL) game and not just Online, this Battle Arena Deck has some incredible value!

For instance, this deck includes 2 copies of VS Seeker, valued at about $9 each. Each of the 2 Keldeo-EX are valued at around $3, and the same for Rayquaza-EX. Just those 6 cards alone are worth the $30!

Not to mention, this Battle Arena Deck is currently the only way to get Karen, and 2 are included. Karen’s worth about $5 each right now, and it’s value is likely to go up. These are limited-edition Decks and supplies are running low. Karen is already starting to see competitive play and is definitely considered a Staple card already.

The foil energy cards usually sell for $1+ each, and this deck comes with 16 foil energy cards!

Factor in the value of Professor Sycamore, N, Lysandre, even the Octillery line, and everything else, this deck is valued at $140+ if you were to buy each card individually at fair-market prices.

I can’t recommend this deck more. Get one while you can, in fact, get 2!

If you’re playing the online game only, each of these cards would amount to roughly 25-30 STS packs on trade. Karen alone has been going for 2-3 packs each, and VS Seeker for 1-2 packs each. Everyone needs Sycamore, Lysandre, and N, as well. Its value is likely to increase over time, too.

Physical Set or Just the PTCGO Code?

If you play the physical Pokemon TCG, then I highly recommend buying a physical copy (or 2) of this Battle Arena Deck, especially if you’re just starting out. These decks include such a large amount of Staple cards that will end up costing much more than the average selling price of $29.

If you just play the online PTCGO, then getting your hand on a code card for this set is a very good idea, as well. However, if you normally just play online, but are thinking about playing the physical game, too, get a copy (or 2) of this set IRL ASAP.

Find Rayquaza vs Keldeo Codes on eBay.

This Battle Arena Deck won’t be around forever, and for its incredible value they’re going fast.
